A trip can be considered an investment and if you are planning to travel, you should protect that investment from unexpected and uncontrollable events that may require you to cancel your trip.
Travel cancellation and interruption may provide reimbursement for the value of your trip if you cancel or interrupt it while travelling out of your province of residence. We also offer trip cancellation and interruption coverage to cover a portion of the value of your trip by combining our insurance products with your personal group plan insurance if you already own coverage.
Travel Cancellation Insurance provides coverage at the time of purchase of your policy up to the day you leave on your trip. Should you cancel your trip due to unexpected or unforeseen covered risks such as the death of an immediate family member, this coverage can help cover non-refundable prepaid travel costs. Refundable prepaid travel costs are not covered by our trip cancellation policies. Travel interruption insurance provides coverage while you are on your trip, and you experience unexpected or unforeseen travel interruptions such as a death in the family, or your scheduled carrier is delayed by weather conditions.
*The criteria for admissibility are determined by each policy.
It reimburses forfeited, non-refundable or unused payments or deposits if travelers must cancel or interrupt their trip due to a covered reason.
Not all reasons are covered. In order for this insurance to apply, the cancellation or interruption of your covered trip must result from an unforeseen event occurring during your coverage period that prevents you from traveling.
Trip cancellation and interruption insurance as a standalone policy does not include any emergency medical or hospital benefits.
If you also require emergency medical coverage, we strongly recommend that you select an all-inclusive travel insurance package.
We compare travel cancellation and interruption quotes from a diverse range of carriers in order to find you the best coverage that suits your needs.
